November 3, 2017 Event Recap: Play NYC 2017
Dave Monteagudo

Over 5,000 gamers descended on New York’s historic rock hall Terminal 5 on August 19th and 20th to play 3 floors of games at the inaugural Play NYC. The weekend featured 100+ games and 25 talks and panels. All of the excitement was live-streamed to Twitch receiving 75,000 views and #PlayNYC hit #3 on NYC Twitter. Visit our Youtube channel to check out the recap video or see footage from our main stage stream. Presenters included a stellar lineup of developers, press and industry professionals from New York and beyond.

A surprise smash hit of the weekend were the Game Graffiti installations specially commissioned for Play NYC. These games, designed for unique spaces within Terminal 5, were unforgettable and we look forward to expanding this portion of the event in the years to come.

This event wouldn’t have been possible without the enthusiastic contributions of the NYC gaming community. A huge thank you to all the developers, gamers, streamers, and volunteers who helped make this an unforgettable first year. Join us in 2018!
